Reading some of the postings on there it could well be flying this year and putting in an appearance at EASTBOURNE next year all being well! Eastbourne Air Show is on today as it happens, weather is not looking that good for it though.
It would be amazing to see a Vulcan back in the air, the last one I saw fly was at Biggin Hill Air Show...Show Stopper! You could see, feel, smell, hear its earth rattling display.
Shame also that someday somebody will try to rescue Concorde and put her in the air again, we never know what we have till its gone!!

I was down seeing a customer a few years ago in Bristol we arrived early and stopped at the local pub for a quick drink.
Suddenly everything stopped and all left the pub, so we followed and watched Concorde take her last flight in to the airport. Although we had heard it was her last flight my colleague and I had no idea we would see such a light and it made our days. If she ever flies again it would be great but if not I can sat that I saw her seconds before she landed for her last time. a memory that will last forever

Concorde was the First (and only) commercial, supersonic passenger aircraft that came into service in 1971!
I was trained on it as a 'Tug driver' and could have flown on it at any time, but it was so available to me then I thought I would get around to it later and regrettably never did!
It was in daily service for over 30 years, now retired, no one wants to spend money keeping at least ONE Concorde airworthy and like the fantastic Vulcan (a Bomber) that was also in use daily for the same amount of time......YEARS later Concord, like this Vulcan will probably have to be restored mostly by volunteers and donations to put it in the air again!

As a child we used to go to RAF Scampton Open day each year. I have an enduring memory of 4 Vulcan Bombers doing a "Scramble" take off on full power and reheat. You did not hear it you FELT it... :-)
Looking foward to seeing 588 Fly..

Did anyone go to the Eastbourne Air Show? The Sea Harrier usually does it remarkable hover and bow to the audience just off the beach facing the hotel, awsome roar and power of just one engine, clearly showing its thrust vectoring as it sprays water off the sea, not visible on its land displays.

Today was the day ;D For the first time since 1993, Vulcan XH558 Flew. Hopefully she will now be doing the airshow circuit for the next 10 to 15 years. 6.5 Million pounds of private & lottery funding has been spent on this once in a lifetime restoration to get the worlds only servicable Vulcan flying again. There were so many hits on its web site today that the server crashed at about 2.30 this afternoon.
So if you hear a very loud noise above you when you are out in the fields it might just be the Delta Lady. Give the old girl a wave.

Today was the day ;D There were so many hits on its web site today that the server CEASED WORKING at about 2.30 this afternoon. "First flight" and the 'other word' is probably best kept out the same paragraph! Could we be seeing this again? In formation with the Red Arrows I hope so!

I saw this on another forum, but it made me smile in 2008 there will be two types of airshow .... 1. Those that include a display from XH558. 2. Those with no Spectators. ;D ;D ;D ;D

From the 'Old' to the 'Bold' !
October 25, 2007.. Singapore to Sydney, Australia, the first commercial flight of the Airbus A380 belonging to Singapore Airlines took to the air! It can carry some 850 passengers, but took about 450 to Sydney.
