Probably going at the weekend. No Vulcan this year. Probably to noisy for gods waiting room. The vocal minority are trying to stop it altogether. And they will probably succeed now that you have to pay to stand on a public right of way!

Hot news from the Vulcan hanger. She will be appearing at Bournemouth on Saturday 30th August only. This means she will almost defiantly be at Shoreham on the same day. I'm at Bristol Kite Festival that weekend. But if your at Sumners pond you might want to take a trip to the coast . Keep your eyes on the skies.
Cheers, greenman

Dunsfold is only about 40 minutes drive from Portmouth. Do you think we can escape from the flying field for a couple of hours?

I cannot possibly say for you but I'm not sure that Marilyn would lend me her car, although it will be there as well as the camper, as she is going off site for Saturday afternoon

Put your chairs away! I was hoping we'd see it in Hurstpierpoint as we usually see the Battle of Britain flight go over heading for Shoreham.

If you are heading for Sumners pond this weekend, you may have been hoping to glimpse the Vulcan on its way to or from Goodwood Revival. Well once again it is not to be. The big tin triangle is sick again and will not be gracing the air around Sussex for the foreseeable future.
Cheers, Greenman.

I believe she was snuck out today while I was looking the other way My spies let me down If so this could be her last flight: The Vulcan to the Sky Trust needs on average £135,000 per month to keep flying, but current income is forecast to cover only about half of what is needed. Vulcan to the Sky Business Development Director, Michael Trotter, comments:
"We are struggling to find a secure source of ongoing funding. It is extremely frustrating that, having returned XH558 to the air display circuit and demonstrated the "Vulcan Effect" at many air shows, we have not yet attracted a major sponsor to secure our future. People should now be in no doubt that without new funding, 2008 may turn out to be the last flying season for XH558 and that would be a complete tragedy. We need to raise sufficient money to cover all of the costs that we incur to operate the aircraft. If we are unable to do that, our future, and implicitly that of XH558, looks dire. It is not overstating our predicament to say that this week could sadly see the final flight of Vulcan XH558 and after that she may have to be mothballed."Keep up with the news at www.tvoc.co.uk

Oops, sorry forgot about the forum. i went up on Tuesday for what should have been her departure. Being out in the cold had got to generator No2. So no flight All the way to Farnborough & back for sfa (sweet felicity arkwright). Loads of work to do on Wednesday. So i sat at my desk biting my nails whilst she headed for home. She even did a turn & fly out over the bailey bridge on the A323. Right where i had been standing the day before. Heho, Theres always next year. Cheers, Greenman
