Had planed to take the RC kite to Teston but I've not had any luck getting enough charge in the battery, going to pop in to the local model shop next week and see if they can sort me out a uk spec charger and I'll ask about battery packs for the Paraplane too. Sympathy goes to those with broken or tangled paraplanes, There has to be some mod we can do to stop the lines getting tangled, I have a problem with the white rods that attach the line to the servo getting caught in the prop, once that gets bent there unusable fortunately I had two spare but not anymore, I'm getting to the point of buying another just for parts.

Ripmax were the distributors of the sky surfers and had a comprehensive catalogue of spare parts which seem identical.
Can you ask about a fast car charger for 7.2v ni-mh too please.
Bring the infamous 'Thingy' to Teston so I can have a butchers, please...if its ni-cad I have a 12volt variable voltage charger!

How confused were you lot?? Some of you were pointing at the Paracopter in the tree and CORRECTLY some were pointing at the Idiot me....some were even rolling around on the grass laughing and holding their bellies! I was not happy, remember to both simultaneously POINT AND LAUGH at the Idiot, not the item! I Quote from the ELF Constitution: Section 4 Any of the following shall result in termination of membership:
a.... Non-payment of dues and assessments.
b.... Activities deemed inimitable to the best interest of the club. Such as:
i Not getting the beers in,
ii Not flying a one stringed kite in a manner carefully calculated to provoke the webmaster.
iii Not pointing and laughing at someone Else's misfortune. Thank you everybody who helped get it back, especially Matt who climbed further up a tree than I ever have, and dislodged it with a 9mtr. pole! It was undamaged and flew till 10pm with lights on....without further incident!

And avoided the trees for the rest of the weekend. Portsmouth should be OK as little or no trees.

breaking news on the paraglider front, i and my model boat racing guru Harry yesterday cracked the problem of the fragile plastic connectors tha get caught up in the prop when landing.these are not available when they sheer so we looked around for something that will do the job and be available to all.... the answer is 1.5 mm strimmer line from b&q 30m for £3.50. some 3mm copper brake line tube cut to fit over the loops made at each end to hold the clips and viola we are flying again enjoy

Brilliant tip!!! I think every one of us have stretched these lines to the width of a hair!
How did you get on with the battery pack enquiries? This one I paid £25.99 for last year but although considerably heavier the power and flight times were far better.I gave Jamie spares out of my one and then he said he wouldn't be flying it again!!! Glad to see he has changed his mind now, all you gotta do is not crash into the ground! Or trees, or rivers, or the sea, or peoples cars, or people or......actually there is quite quite a lot to learn but it is easy and gets easier...

Managed to get a small discount for Members with the Sussex Model Centre Discount could be handy as they post out spares/batteries etc. very promptly.
Chris F , try this and Michael wont be out flying you in future! TOP FLYING TIP If your X-Flyer has a tendency to "roller coast" (climb then stall, repeatedly) sellotape a one pence piece to the nose of the model. This brings the Centre of Gravity further forward and improve its flying. Oh, forgot to mention, my replacement Paracopter came in an identical box as all the ones we got, BUT, it was the chrome body and silver canopy etc. identical to DaveM's type (and Les's) although his ones have a pretty pictured box!?battery packs are being worked on as i write,i also purchased a fast charger on saturday ,some more aa nicads and connectors to make battery packs, 6no aa batteries @ 1.49 a connector @ 85p a shrink wrap sleeve @5p equals colins bliss..... Good luck with soldering to the batteries Les....and no swearing when your at the tenth attempt!!

Rubbish packing came in one of those thin plastic packing envelopes, Consequence...... the tail was squashed and bent over, but I applied a bit of heat and I think I've fix it, even so you'd thing a well established company would no better, the one I got off ebay was better packedged.

It FLYS!!! Some of you saw me with this, purchased from Roy and Hayley cheap at Portsmouth!! R/C X-UFO
As hard to control as a helicopter but brilliant...4 motors mean only about 4/5 minutes flying time and when I tried it at Portsmouth it took that long to trim it before the battery went, so it never flew. But at home it charges in 20 minutes and at night its led display is really stunning.
