It says 7 to 21 days, but usually 15days on the site? Considering we are in mid winter now it should arrive for our predicted 'Indian Summer' in Late August which will be just in time for LUTS !!

EXCELLENT.....lack of self control there Chris! ;D In the words of the song: "I'll have a brand new pair of roller skates, you'll have a brand new key, lets get together and try them out to see.....etc"I don't think I will be bidding any further on this, cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190133810325&category=56390&sspagename=rvi:1:1 just ain't got the time to put it together...BUT...if I end up buying them then I will have to buy the whole caboodle complete somewhere else and use these for spares!!My last Paraglider from 'Primeahead' was damaged in the box and the box itself looked like it had travelled around the world, it must have been a returned item! Going through the replacement/refund process now

First FlightThe first non wet, non windy evening since i bought my RC Parachute. He flies ;D ;D ;DA few teething troubles to iron out but no damage, even after three or four crash landings. Pulls to the right a bit but i can adjust that on the steering trim, i think. Only about 5 minutes flying time Time to recharge my battery & see if i can find some spare ones online.

Hi all, Anyone out there know much about power packs? What i know. I have a 7.2V Ni-MH 750mAh power pack with a 7.2V 400mAh Charger. It seems to take about 2 hours to charge up & has a flight time of about 5 minutes (confirmed on second test flight tonight).
On ebay i can buy a 7.2V Ni-Cad power pack with either 1600 or 2100 mAh, with a Standard Tamiya Connector.
Can i charge this with my current charger? Will it give me more flight time? is the conector compatible with the one on the paracopter?
I am assuming that it will take longer to charge & then give me more flight time?
Not sure if the charger im using will be ok for Ni-Cad?
Any info greatfully recieved as the last time i owned any RC stuff was about 30 years ago.
And ive drunk to much Port since then to remember .

Oioi greenmanI’ve been out of RC for to long too but I'll tell you what I do know. The connectors that come with the paraplane are the Standard Tamiya type. I’m pretty sure you can charge those 1600 & 2100 packs with that charger but obviously it would take longer. And yes they would give more flight time. BUT….…… and it's a big but (u like what i did there ) The pack that comes with it is made up of 6 AAA cells/batteries , while all the 7.2v packs I’ve ever come across are made up of 6 ‘C’ cells, are bigger and don’t fit ( I’ve tried ). I’ve looked at the listings on eBay etc and I don’t see anything to indicate size, I’d guess their out there somewhere and probably listed for electric flight as there small and light, but I’ve not found any yet. What I’ve done is get an old 7.2v quick charger of eBay, only cost £5 with p&p and plugs into the car cigarette lighter and charges it in 15 minuets, mind you I’ve not used it on this battery yet but I used to use one just like it to charge the bigger size packs for RC cars. There’s a quick charger here, this one connects straight to the car battery and has a half hour timer, but would work just as well. cgi.ebay.co.uk/Thunder-Tiger-7-2V-quick-charger_W0QQitemZ130138796241QQihZ003QQcategoryZ140974QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemHow do you know the packs charged after only 2 hours? I think the instructions say 4 to 6, just because the packs getting warm doesn’t mean it’s charged. Unfortunately I've not flown mine long enough to give an indication of flight time. IF you do find some similar size battery packs let me know as I could do with another. ;D

Chris..let us know how long delivery took from Hong Kong! I let the other ones go as the were incomplete and I think I was kidding myself that I would actually get round to building them! The similarities between the Paracopter and Skysurfer (my old one) is uncanny. So I tried its larger battery pack in the Paracopter and it fits! Original item for Skysurfer was a Ripmax 7.2v 700mAh Ni-Cad weighing 144 grams. Six AA batteries 2abrest x 3high. The Paracopter has 7.2v 750 mAh Ni-MH weighing 90 grams. I had the Sussex Model centre in Worthing make me a pack of six AA Ni-cad batteries with superior 1100 mAh. Obviously 2abrest x 3high ) cost £25 though, and a weight of 164 grams! Yet to get out and Fly BUT (its only a small BUT) the AA pack definitely fits into the Paracopter as tightly as it does in the Skysurfer, so either AAA or AA packs of 7.2v batteries will do! The weight is almost double and it only just clears the ground from an overhead launch before climbing, but the flight times are trebled! Field trials are called for asap, cant for-see any problems as the weight is centrally hung. Does anyone know if a Ni-cad charger be used for Ni-Mh batteries as I have a 12v Ni-cad 7.2v Ni-cad charger?Collin[/b] SMC (very helpful staff) www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk

looks like I've jumped the gun, I'd not even considered NiMH and NiCD, to be honest I ignored the NiMH on the battery pack and just assumed it was a Nicad, I didn't know there was anything else, So went off and did a quick search on the net. The gist of it is if you have an old Nicad charger DONT use it to charge Nimh, but if you have a Nimh charger it will also charge Nicads. More info here, the important bit is at the bottom. michaelbluejay.com/batteries/charging-tips.htmlSoz if I misled anyone, I also misled myself

RC kite arrived today, that was less than the 10 to 15 days stated. Box was battered, but kite was in tact, the ripstops glued to the carbon frame in one bit then cuts are made so the rear flaps are free to move, it's a bit rough in places and i think I can do a better job of reseating the radio gear, I should imagine they knock out 100's of these an hour in the sweat shops. The radios on 27mhz and has changeable crystals. My only concern is the battery and charger..... It doesn't say what the battery is, there's nothing written on the pack and I've seen different sellers say different things. the charger is 220v and has a red light to show when charging is finished but it's only two pin , I did manage to charge it via a shaving socket to 3 pin converter but it charged in about an hour and it's supposed to take 3 so not sure how well its worked. Im bound to brake something in the first go but at least the night lights look good. ;D I'll keep ya posted.

RC mayhem at the Sumners Pond bash! Early evenings when the wind died we all went up to the bigger flying field up the hillside and got our boys toys out.
Simon and Dave ( Martha, who bats for the other side?) had aircraft, Dave H, Jamie and myself had Paracopters and Les had both! All on 27 mhz and NO interference with each other at all.
Poor Jamie had several launch failures, some by my hand, totalled his propeller guard and just watched disheartened after that. Les also had launch failures, didn't break anything but tangled his lines in the prop several times and the last tangle was too bad to sort out in the failing light, Dave had some great flights both on HIS AAA battery pack and MY AA pack. The AA had more power and five times longer in the air.
My Skysurfer flew equally as good on the little AAA pack but obviously for a much shorter time. Overall the performance and build quality of the 'Japanese' model was much superior than the 'Chinese' version but at £35 the fun factor was almost identical!
Hope you are bringing the 'RC flying kite' to Teston.
