ChirsF,
I think they are saying left is one channel, right another and throttle a third (marketing?) but I think there is only two as just one servo must do left and right? The throttle is variable and can be incrementally adjusted but must be on full power at launch. On full power the gondola is pushing itself in-front of the canopy/wing and changes the angle of attack giving it more lift, no throttle causes the gondola to sit under the canopy an it descends like a parachute, medium power will cause it to fly level. Tip worth remembering is on take off Climb higher than you think before making any turns as turning causes it to loose altitude! Turn gently with little pushes of the stick as the EMERGENCY landing is just hold the turn and it will come down quick! Good luck!!
Chris and Jamie,
Think I have woosied out of that as its 15 years old, or maybe cos I'm 50 years old...."seemed a good idea at the time" I can hear myself saying at casualty!

So with marketing like that a RC car has 4 channels because it goes left, right, forward & back? LMAO! ;D ;D ;D Naa the paraplane has 1 servo for steering and 1 speed controller that's 2 channel. Anyway it doesn't matter how many channels it is because it flue brilliantly however the pilots not so hot on landing, I got a bit over confident with a quick decent spiral and didn’t have enough room to recover, ............. Result para lines and aerial wrapped around prop and a few bits of cracked plastic. Still nothing super glue, plastic ties and solder can’t fix, and it’s already ready for another go.

SPEED CONTROLLER that was what I couldn't think of ... better than "The throttle is variable and can be incrementally adjusted "
Been there done that, I used Holts P60 for repairs as its got fiberglass strands in it to prevent it cracking in the same spot again.
The aerial obviously HAS to hang down in flight and continually goes into to prop and snapping so I just join it by a few twists now and it breaks off at that point every time and can just be twisted back on!
"So with marketing like that a RC car has 4 channels because it goes left, right, forward & back? LMAO! ;D ;D ;D" Have you read all the Chinese translations?....they would cause you to PYSL ;D ;D ;D

greenman, 27.455 isn’t that bad, I did a little digging and from what I can tell it’s a domestic channel used for garage doors and lights etc, and well away from CB Though would be good to be on different channels. The receiver looks exactly the same as the one in Collins “ Made in JAPAN” instructions. So I was wondering if the crystal would just pull out, unfortunately It’s hard to get to and it hasn’t got a tag so the only way to see if it comes out is to take everything apart. Plan was... if it does come out I’d get a better handset, but if I remember right just because the frequency’s the same handsets and receivers aren’t always compatible, ie futaba only works with futaba. So that's probably that idea knackered. Must resist buying rc kite... Must resist buying rc kite... Must resist buying rc kite...
