Well I messed up, Same chap was selling a 7 meter tiger/ dragon, (130186515901) I went to bed planning to up my then winning bid in the morning, but got the time wrong in my head for some reason I thought I had 12 hours but it turned out to be 10 I was outbid by a pound… Ouch! I was prepared to go a lot higher. Cant believe that rok went for that much, didn’t think much of it myself, I did put a bid of the delta thinking I wouldn’t stand a chance but as it happens it didn’t go for as much as I expected. However I'll be kicking myself about the tiger for a long while was going to give it to Sue.

Hey Lucky...Chris, "Beautiful 7 meter long Tiger single line kite" only £26.55....shame you missed out! Have we not seen that flying somewhere?? I think it was actually flying at Southampton kite fest last year....makes sense as that's where the seller comes from, it looked really substantial in the air!! ;D ;D ;D

Thanks Del... Coll, Rub it in why don’t you. I’m fairly sure our chairmen has one too, I seam to remember the tiger theme catching the other half’s eye only to be smugly told it’s no longer available. So I thought I was off the hook until I made the mistake of pointing out the auction.

John, I purchased the Sprit of Air Mega Delta just after Christmas for exactly the same reasons that you are expressing; that is, it appeared a lot of kite for relatively little money. I have to say it is a good kite and is superb value.
I did however have to make a couple of minor modifications that you should not have to make with a new kite. The cross spar pockets consisted of a 1 inch triangle of dacron which allowed the spars to pop out, I had to sew on proper webbing pockets that held the spars securley. There are two tow points on the keel (which incidently is a tunnel keel) these tow points are two small pieces of heavy duty half inch tape held on with literally 5 stitches. I was stupid enough to fly it having seen how fragile the tow points were and was rewarded with them giving way and the kite floating away in the breeze! I recovered the kite without problem and re-sewed the tow points.
The kite is a very good flyer it does have an apron style rear edge which flats but it is very stable, it is made from rather heavy ripstop I would guess about 70gram or similar, and with the glass spars is not a super lightweight kite but a great flyer and notwithstading the minor niggles I am very happy with it
I hope this helps Best regards Dick

Hi Dick
Happy New Year
What can I say ! a new kite that you have to repair and do modifications yourself it could only be a Spirit of Air. ;D Cheap it maybe but Mr Average would not have been able to do all that and it is at a price, aimed at first time flyers.
Regards
Dave
