Being off sick with a rotten cold, I had the privilege this lunchtime watching Yves Rossy's jet wing flight across the channel live on national geographic.
The flight appeared to be pretty uneventful and took only 75% of the predicted time, which makes it all seem pretty straight forward but having watched all the run up and background it was an amazing feat.

The flight appeared to be pretty uneventful I had actually hoped the bloke would smear himself across the face of the White Cliffs, and would serve as an example to humanity at large not to be so dumb. It's a reflection of our times that these seemingly dumb stunts go on all the time and the perpetrators get off scot-free. Take the success of the "Brainiac" show for example. There will now be a spate of copy-cat rocket men and it's the likes of me who work every hour God sends in hospitals who pick up the pieces. ( He grumbled, having yet another bad day in the blood bank...)
