Hi All and you Collin ;D Robert Van Weers will be attending the Essex Festival this year and has kindly offered to run a workshop on the friday before the festival. www.softkites.comIt will be held in one of the big marquees with plenty of stabilised power to use. The aim will be to make within the day, one of Roberts new yellow tang fishes and for all to fly as a shoal at the festival. Costs have not yet been finalised yet but I am testing the water for interest. (I have 4 so far that wish to attend and thought about 20 should be the limit) Please email me if you are interested in attending ! regards Dave dave@kiteworldevents.co.uk

Is that 212,534,468 people? When was this vote/poll taken?
I would have said "I like Dave" but wasn't asked....anyway.... YES please Dave I would be interested in doing the workshop, reading his site he estimated a time of 10 hours over two days to make his kit...I think I will have to fit a 'Turbo' on my sewing machine...also is it the 1.5 or 3mtr. Yellow Tang? What a stunning Kite!!ps. what other colours do yellow tangs come in? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I know I am not always top ot the popular people list but that must be more votes of dislike that President Bush or Saddam ;D Are you sure that someone wasn,t leaning on the keyboard ! There are 24 hours in a day - 10 = 14 left over, save cash on that Turbo ! When I originally spoke to Robert months back he thought that the Tang should be able to be completed in a day. I will check with him again I would prefer it to be a slower pace so how about the Thursday & Friday ? What size fishes would you wish to make as at that time I think the smaller one was the only kit option. ? Regards Dave

I would like to build the the 3m version but there is a big difference in the online kite prices NZ$90 (£35) for the 1.75m and NZ$300 (£117) for the 3m, so the old budget may force the issue and if it didn't 3 x 1.75m might be more fun than 1 x 3m

Hi all I have been chatting with Robert and the time to make the Yellow Tang is about 5 hours, although some have made it faster than that. (spot on Batchoy ) I will finalise prices shortly, but if anyone wishes to make the 3 metre version then I will need to know about 6 weeks beforehand as the kits will be sent over before his trip. I have a 3m YT (made up) on the way to me at the moment and also one of the Clownsocks he has started making. And for Collin, the Yellow Tang is also available in Orange called the O_____ Tang I suppose ;D ;D Any more details please email me regards Dave dave@kiteworldevents.co.uk

Hi Dave,
Sorry to hear that MP Events pulled the rug out from under you and cancelled the Chelmsford festival, stating that 25,000 people needed to attend for them to just break even, and their perception that due to the recent rise in inflation the public would not attend in hoards.....next time get a retainer / deposit, at your age your 'time' is most valuable and you have wasted shed loads on this.
I'll support any future events you plan, and still want to do this workshop if it goes ahead anywhere else.
Regards,
Collin
