A few years ago when Kent had the bad floods over the winter the whole of Teston was under water and it soon dried out. By the time of the festival it was one of the hottest and windless to date, role on the same again this year but lets hope for a little more wind (for kite flying).

Some years ago we camped in the Wye valley. Before we set up camp, the landlord of the pub, next to the field we were camping in phoned the local river authority to check that the river wasn't going to flood that night. We were told, "yes it has rained up river but we don't expect any overnight flooding". Over night the river rose by eight feet! only two feet more to go until it burst its banks. As we packed our gear away it started raining hard. (Welsh hard). We left in a bit of a hurry. P.S. The door of the pub was five feet higher than the camp site, The pub floods about once every 10 years.

Have people realised that Blackheath is on again this year and clashes with the first Teston Weekend ! As much as I loved Blackheath I think Teston has to be my choice. Regards Dave
