Having flown Les's, Sarah's and Jelv's Skydancers over the summer period and thoroughly enjoyed the kite, I feel I have to have my own. Although I could still try and catch them unaware and fly theirs, they see me coming and pack it away pronto!
It's not a 'wishy, washy,' as I always thought and has a character of its own and quite involving to fly, in-spite of the 'Revolution' devotees frowns and tuts!
I have ordered mine, not cheap, but you are buying quality and like most Skydancers it is a one-off and custom built by David Davies. Cant wait!
That's my next 'must have' Kite, whats yours gonna be? Or what would you like it to be?(Save money, make a suggestion of what Kite the CLUB should buy next and fly theirs!)

Red and Black...with a 'flame' at the join! Updated the pics on my site with the kite in my front room....its a big kite! One of a kind, and that's the customised bag hanging on the centre of it, in case you thought 'whats that?'Sky FlameNobody seems to want another kite, eh? So to rephrase the question: IF I was to offer to buy YOU a kite, FREE what would you want? Real busy on Sunday, may well come to the Fly-in @ Tescombe Tye if I can.

I'm thinking of getting a lifter of some sort so that I could start getting soft inflatables.

I don't know about purchasing a kite, but once the Wyvern is debugged (test flights today weather permitting), projects possibly on the cards for the next 18-24 months include: - Gee Bee Zee based on "Snoopy's Dream"
- 2m Rok
- Double Ram Delta
- 4m semi-inflatable Fruit Bat - if the Wyvern works (The wyvern design is based on a fruit bat's wings, limbs and torso with a lizard's head and tail)
- MK II (3m Tall) Tux
- 3.5m2 Power Sled.
Some of which I have all the materials for. However my plans could all change, after all the Wyvern started out as a two-line inflatable manta ray, until I got hold a lot of green ripstop very cheap, and if my attempts to get several kilometers of braided polyester line made work out, I could end up making a 3m Edo. ;D

I don't know about purchasing a kite, but once the Wyvern is debugged (test flights today weather permitting), It Flies!!! After weekends with either too much or too little wind, and too many broken neck spars to contemplate (its now 5mm GRP instead of 6x4mm carbon tube), I finally had my Wyvern flying. I just now have to re-calculate the wing bridles based its actual flight angles rather than the Genki configuration I initially used.

Superb!!!
Clicking 'slideshow' on the Picasa link gives you a full screen view, that really does the detailing justice.....do you think you will be able to 'tweak' it to will fly without the wing bridles all the time, or too risky? Pics look great, what event do you anticipate being at when will we be able to see it in the 'flesh'?
