Back from another fabulous Fuerte (my 4th) and yet again it was a pleasure to meet Kite fliers from BKF,CFF,KKF,KW, and the rest of Europe in the most relaxed and picturesque setting for a festival that I know.
This year more Brits than ever graced the shores of La Oliva, our number seem to grow every year.
Thanks to the BKF committee, we took one of the clubs Midi gekos out again and she flew beautifully for 3 full days. It danced in the sky surrounded by parrots, moles, sharks and octopi.
Alan lent me his experimental pilot and I can report that it flew straight and clean in a variety of winds. Easy to launch and not too much pull. Thanks Alan. (full report to Alan very soon).
No British in the top 3 in the Rok fight this year, Steve got cut out early on and I got my bridle caught in the tangle (rookie mistake). In the end I think the locals went off with the trophy on homeSoil sand.
The wind picked up on Sunday and I abandoned the dunes early before getting a full body exfoliation.
Flew all sorts of other kites while we were there including my diver, in a diver convention of 3 divers from across Europe. Mike and I then went and took ours swimming with a huge shoal of sharks! great to see a little gathering of divers. it would be great to get a load all swimming together, with marine animals of course.
Then the festival was over and a more relaxed approach to flying took over for a few days.
We swam with real fish, flew speed kites, did KAP missions, listened to live music, ate great food and drank a couple of Gin and Tonics.
Same again next year, I hope so.
Cheers,
Greenman
