A provisional booking has been made at Runway's End Farnborough for the weekend of January 14 & 15, to fly indoor kites and/or SMALL model aircraft and helicopters. The hall is about 30m x 10m, with a height clearance of approx. 4 metres. There will be a social on Saturday evening, with a bar. Overnight accommodation will be available, either in your own caravan or camper, or space to bed down inside. The cost will be more than this year, it still has to be negotiated, but I am expecting something in the region of £120, hence the provisional booking. I do not need committed bookings at this stage, but expressions of interest to see whether it is viable to proceed. It is with GREAT reluctance, but I have decided to postpone Winterfly 2012 While we thoroughly enjoyed it this year, with just four definites and one possible for 2012, it was not worth the effort. The atmosphere just wouldn't have been the same, and I couldn't reasonably expect a bar person to come out for an evening for just half a dozen people In addition, Karl Longbottom has an indoor kite fly in Swindon on Sunday 15th January, and has 8 accepted already: a pity I didn't know about this sooner, or I wouldn't have proceeded as far as I have before cancelling If more people would want to come and fly indoor kites when the helis are not flying, then it would be a goer: why they don't want to come to Farnborough, I don't know, although it doesn't have the same height clearance as the venue in Swindon

Sorry, this has had to be CANCELLED. There are issues on site which has meant that ALL bookings have been cancelled until the end of March.
