Bon-bon's pick of her Streatham Common Kite Day Images. For those who are interested her camera was £19.99 from Tesco, it is a Technika SH-340T 3.1 Megapixal camera with no optical zoom, and whilst I upload the photographs to her blog they are Bon-bon's own work and her choice of which ones are published. PS I moderate all the comments left on the blog, so any you make don't appear immediately, but they are much appreciated

Ooo Little Ted with his LARA (Low Aspect Ratio Annular) chute on. Now was that the first Roman Candle drop or the later more sedate drops when the chute actually opened. ;D Note to self: Must unpack and air Big Ted's and Little Ted's parachutes before their first drop of the season, lest they fail to open.

Of course!
Team B. Had first go at a member of the public's kite up the tree. DaveH, Rhw, Batchoy, Trashman , C2lln, and the kite owner. RESULT after an hour, Failure.
Team C. Had second attempt. C2lln and the two guys whose kite it was, one climbed to the first vee in the tree, prodding the kite with the pole, he was winning and moved the kite but his wife kept on and on (and on) about his safety (obviously no life insurance?) screaming "Dennis, Dennis leave it...we can always get a new kite but not a new Dennis" (obviously a kite wont be a bread winner?) RESULT after an hour, Failure.
The A Team. (International Kite Rescue) Third attempt, RESULT after 20 minutes, SUCCESS! In the pouring rain after all other BKF had left, Kitekeith climbed the tree with AlansO's rope (to the second vee) and using C2lln's 9mtr.Pole freed the kite, apart from one tiny hole it was undamaged.
Lovely Kite it was too! It was given to the Festival organiser, Bob Colover, in the hope that should DENNIS and his friend ever ask, they could be reunited with it.
