Apologies for not reporting sooner, but I had a more urgent deadline to meet. Despite the forecast of light winds and the Rugby World Cup Final (who won, by the way ?), several people were there all day Saturday to fly in the variable winds. From around sunset until 8.30 p.m., there was a steady breeze above about 100 feet, so there were a number of illumnated kites flying, plus some without lights, for various reasons. We had fireworks during the evening, the cook-your-own-food barbecue went well, but no beer tent . Fortunately I had brought enough of my own for me . After the wind died down there were hot air balloons and a r/c flying saucer with lights. Thanks to those who paid to fly, donated or sponsored we made £100 for Children in Need. Not nearly as good as last year, but then we didn't have a power kite to raffle this year. Also thanks to North Hants Buggy Club. On Sunday the wind was again variable, but several people enjoyed more flying in the sunshine.

Thanks for letting all of us know what happened, and arranging it, I know its taken for granted sometimes and these things don't just 'happen'.
I really wanted to come, but was occupied with things I should have done gradually over the last 6years, but was forced to do it all in one go! (Decorating...I hate it!)
Next one...I will definitely be there.'cut and pasted' your reply into the members area too as no one else did a write up....
