Shame - I've not seen anywhere better for a chill out. Can I suggest you think about a suitable date in 2008 which could be published well in advance in Aerodyne.

Come rain or shine this is DEFINITELY BACK ON at the TOP BIG FIELD at Sumners Ponds this weekend!
Come to camp or fly on Friday the 28th.September and leave whenever you like! Sign posted to get up to the flying/camping area once on the premises.....Usual formula as before...go set up in the field, self reliant units (Not needing the sites facilities) are only £6 per night!!! Anyone wishing to come up for the day/evening also welcome....possibly the last one this year?Collin

Not sure what I'll be doing as Kathryn is home this weekend - may try again to drop in on Sunday on the way back to school.

Don't know my ETA on Friday but you all know the drill by now!

Another relaxed weekend, all be it forced on us by the weather though. Saturday was showers in the morning and no wind for the rest of the day. Sunday was dry and sunny with just a gentle breeze in the afternoon. Being in good company helped pass the time constructively and we had an impromptu ‘fighter’ kite workshop in Danny’s camper as he brought all his templates and materials with him. Thank you Dan, somewhat unusual birthday present and self made under expert supervision! Along with fishing the Lake for Carp (best when its raining, and it was) a lot of R/C aircraft were flown, everyone has expanding collections of planes and we are getting quite good at flying these now!!
Both days saw day visitors, I know they only turned up because it was my Birthday, so thanks everyone for taking time out to come on my behalf, and the prezzies, much appreciated…hope you enjoyed the cake!
Its old news now, but in case you missed the link HERE, but scroll all the way to the bottom of the page! I spent my birthday fixing my camper leg, in my haste rushing off to go get another r/c plane from the Sussex Model Centre in Worthing (like a big kid), I forgot to wind one of my campers stabilizing legs up, resulting in breaking it almost off and putting a severe kink in it. We removed and attempted to straighten it out by driving Danny’s 6 ton camper over it several times…and it is reasonably back to normal now.
All of us agreed this WILL be back on during the winter months as it will be unusual to be able to get together and camp/fly before the next ‘do’ at Easter. Will keep you posted…
