The April fly in will be at Hollingbury park, Brighton. On Sunday 5th April. This park runs along side Ditchling road. It has no Football or rugby pitches & has nicely mown grass. It has a decent children's playground at the south end. But i think the loo's are currently closed.
For those that don't know the area; the Golf Club next door has the post code BN1 7HS.
See you there.
Cheers, Greenman.

1. Where do we park - is it opposite Woodbourne Ave. 2. Are there any trees? (Batchoy will need to know this - if there are none he won't be interested in attending )

Looking at the Google satellite pictures there appears to be a mobile phone mast. Target for the Indian fighter kites?

The best places to park are: Right at the top of the park in the car park, opposite Woodbourne Ave. This area of the park isnt always closely mowed. On the grass verge by the trees futher down the park. The wind is not always as good here, but you can keep an eye on you kids in the park further down the hill & its nicely mown. It's basicly in three sections, we easily & safely flew Dick on the middle section last spring. So there should be loads of room for all of us. Guy, there are loads of trees around, this site should prove perfect for your talents. John, that is a phone mast. What you do with it is your business. Tony, Iv'e got loads, Shall we say £12.50 each. Cheers, Greenman

April Fly in report.
RHW & I arrived at about 11.30, after having a good laugh at the Lightning storm that stopped the F1 GP.
A few club members were already in the top car park by the time we arrived. We only flew in the top field, due mainly to the wind direction. The top field is fairly small, but it was big enough for us to get a bit of pre season trial flights in. Colin & Paul were flying their Spirits when we arrived. We prepped our new stack of Brassington's & had a successful first flight. We also managed a bridling & tuning session on some of the new club Rok's. Colin & Simon had a brief Sode session. We dusted down a couple of other kites and had a few forays into the air, some with more success than others. As the wind picked up I had a short flight with my AM pilot, and almost tore my arm out of it's socket!! So we decided that Marion's rock cakes were a good idea.
All in all, not a bad little place to fly. It's even got nice little stumps to sit on. But i think we can do better. Most of us will be away at either Weymouth or Horton farm for the May fly in. So has anyone else got a smart idea for a site for the June Fly in?
