I have checked and the field has been kept clear of the cows this time! We can arrive anytime tomorrow and go straight up there as usual. Booked till Monday late afternoon, and I for one will be staying on to make the most of it. Weather is going to be dry, winds 5-8mph and Sunday is predicted SUNSHINE from 7am to 7pm unusually!
I am glad I will not be staying at home this weekend, which I thought I would be.....good luck to the rest of our team at Margate, in spite of the insinuations etc. recently (I did perceive it being misconstrued) there was never the intention for there to be a conflict of interests!

What a suitable weekend this would have been for a balloon festival! Sunshine and light winds, just about enough to fly in if you were prepared to continually keep at it. A good gathering of kiters and a lot of lazing about in the last of the summer shine? I think this weekends weather is predicted dry for Kingsfold and it will be a proper knees up as everyone who is anyone in the club will be there…all in one place! ;D
>:(The whole weekend for me was somewhat overshadowed by one member turning up with an empty caravan. Having left the caravan in ‘secure’ storage since its last use three weeks ago, was faced with it having been ransacked on collecting it to come to Sumners Ponds on the Friday. EVERYTHING of any use had been stolen tables, chairs, Cadac, Kite collection, reels, EVERYTHING….the lot! Surprisingly they still came for the weekend and put on a brave face…darned if I could!
Danny’s latest ‘kite’ kite drew an audience of a couple of circling buzzards that flew right in to about three feet to investigate the kite ‘kite’! Another of Dan’s birds popped a spar and landed nose down in tree top across the flying field, lake, valley and into the forest, this necessitated IKR member Matt to use a 100ft dropper off his rok to fly it up and out. 10/10
Very clear evening skies made it quite chilly, nil wind, but good company and crack was had wandering between the warm campers.
I never took a single photograph but I know a man that did, (they say just one would paint a thousand words) …he must be busy??

Are any of the stolen kites easily recognizable? Should we be looking out for any in particular? Is it worth posting details to a wider circle in case any of them turn up?
Cheers, Greenman.

And those that don't make it for what ever reason are still very much part of the club and are also someone important to the club. If a members or not, although as members you do get lots of benafits ( www.brightonkiteflyers.co.uk/Membership/Membership%20Form.pdf ) for a membership form) you are important to kite flying and flyers alike. This is not a Brighton Kite Flyers event and the event is not organized by the club, although we do seem to go on mass as individuals, but the club as a club is not invited to display.
