Dear Brighton Kite Flyers, this is a public apology for my overreaction at Bognor Regis KF the weekend before last. That was wrong, and I shouldn't have behaved like that. Underlying all this was a major misunderstanding about the way the festival was to be run. We expected to be told by the organisers when they wanted us to fly (which is what we're used to happening at every kite festival we've ever attended or flown at), whereas at Bognor it was to be the other way around, with flyers letting the organisers know when they wanted to fly. We were not aware of that, and also not aware that the bands could be stopped to allow a pair or team routine to take place. So essentially, both parties were 'waiting' for the other to make the first move.
I've already apologised to Dave and Sarah in private, and they've both accepted my apologies. So hope we can move on from this, kites (with however many lines) flying.
