I couldn't get to the AGM this year, so have no idea what happened there. No Aerodyne in the latest KiteFlyer, the web site seems to have disappeared, and I have received nothing about subs or renewals. Was the Club wound up at the AGM, or is it still alive somewhere?

1. The website hasn't disappeared, it has been totally revamped and can be found at www.brightonkiteflyers.co.uk/ Do you perhaps have a book mark to a page that no longer exists? I've just checked with Simon - for some reason the website was down over the weekend but he doesn't know why.2. Have you recently submitted an article for publication in Aerodyne or even volunteered to be the editor yourself? No? That's the reason it hasn't appeared recently. 3. The club won't be wound up if members play an active part in the club and by helping when we are asked to put on displays at festivals. Just treating it as a way to get camping passes and insurance won't keep the club going!

Dear Peter,
I came home after a weekend away flying kites to promote the club so I hope it is still going and was not done in vain. When I got in I was hit by my daughter with e-mails stopped working as both my home e-mails and the club website is hosted by the same ISP provider I guess the problem is linked, it all seems OK now.
Please could you confirm you can now see it?
Andrew Scott took over Aerodyne for a few issues saying if he got material he would keep it going he found it hard get information in and did not publish for the last issue of the kiteflyer. We need, if we want to keep it going to find someone to take on the role of editing, writing and submitting it. (We are open to all offers)
You have had e-mails since the AGM about some events if you have not please let me know.
Membership will be running from July to July from now on as a high percentage of people join at the festival it seemed a good idea to change renewal dates.
I hope this clarifies the situation and look forward to seeing you soon on flying field.
Simon

Simon,
Many thanks for the reply - I was going to email you privately, but as I posted on the Forum, thought I ought to acknowledge your reply here as well.
Yes, I can see the website again with no problem - had I seen it earlier, I may not have been so concerned. I do appreciate the problem in keeping Aerodyne going, and was very pleased that Andrew had another stab at keeping it going. No, I haven't written anything recently, but I think I have submitted my fair share of articles over the years!
I agree that moving the subs date to July makes a lot of sense (I think we talked about this when I was on the Committee), but it may have been an idea to send a quick email to members saying that. My concern was that normally subs would have been due now which is why with the lack of website and Aerodyne, I jumped to the wrong conclusion.
See you at the Festival,
Peter
