Dieppe Kite festival is always a great show to do, but with work commitments, limited holiday and dodgy ferry times, it’s difficult to get round to doing it. So here’s a thought. 11pm Friday 14th Sept ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe Arrive in Dieppe at 4am Sat morning. A leisurely breakfast near the harbour followed by a day at the festival. Dinner in a local restaurant. On the last Saturday of the festival there is a night flight, so we do that too. We then take a slow wander back to the ferry port and get the 5.30 am back Sunday morning. We get back to Newhaven at 8.30 Sunday morning. It’s a very long day but we can sleep on the Ferry both ways and it gives us Sunday to recover.
This way we get a full day in Dieppe with no hotels to worry about and no need to take time off work. We get to see the whole last day of the festival and a decent amount of time to enjoy the restaurants and cafes of Dieppe. Return trip on the Ferry is £30 for foot passengers or a car plus 4 people is £130.
