We have been asked if we would have a kite flying day on Telscombe Tye on the 24th September this year.
One of the reasons we moved our monthly fly-ins away from Telscombe Tye was the cows that were allowed to graze and the messages that they left behind, but the cows are no longer there so one less obstacle (often more than one)
Who's up for a fun relaxed days flying.

It's just over two weeks after Janet is due to have the operation on her other foot so we are very unlikely to be going anywhere. I should be able to make it.

Is that the same weekend as Kingsfold? If so then I'm afraid it's a no.

25th September, Kites over Capstone, Capstone Farm Country Park, Capstone Road, Gillingham, Kent ME7 3JG 24-25th September, Margate International Kite Festival, Margate Main Beach, Margate and Kingsfold which i am now banned from. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D So a decision needs to be made as to which one to attend. Kingsfold is out for me as my name is not on the list to attend, quite fancy Capstone subject to camping arrangements. Margate i would attend but camping in the place we did last time is simply a no go for me, not sure if there is any where else to camp locally. Any ideas? ?

Ho Hum - looks like a non-camping weekend for us then: I've looked for somewhere else to camp for Margate, and failed, so it will be Telscombe on Saturday, then Capstone on Sunday.

I do believe i heard a rumour someone was saying we could camp at Capstone from Saturday morning, and i'm sure once Simon gets in gear could push for Friday as well.
This is just a thought and not factual before anyone starts moaning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From Kite Weekenders forum
"Medway Council have confirmed that camping will only be allowed from the Saturday afternoon 24th Sept. through to the Monday morning 26th Sept. This is the ruling of the Park Manager who will not be moved to allow camping from the Friday. Will update the situation nearer the time."

Do we meet up at the usual place (Gorham Way) or are there other arrangements?

Perhaps you have pissed him off also. I would turn up when you feel like it,after breakfast on the balcony.

Just spoken to Simon - there's a very good reason why he hasn't posted the details - he's still waiting on getting an email with the information himself! The best he can say is to meet up at the normal place 10-10:30.
Weather forecast looks good: 7-8mph wind straight off the sea.
